هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّاهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ ۖ فَلَمَّا أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا اللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ آتَيْتَنَا صَالِحًا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): “If Thou give us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful.”
(Quran 7:189)
Requirements for Marriage:
- Marriage license from the courthouse.
- Guardian (Wali) representing the bride. Wali is the Father, grandfather, son, or brother. If none of them are available then nephews, uncles ..etc ( Discuss this with the Imam if you are not sure).
- Two adult and sane witnesses
- Photo IDs for everyone above.
- Must complete the online registration form below.
- Marriage fee $150
Notes:
- Marriages can only be done at the masjid.
- The names on the marriage licenses must match the IDs.
- The online registration must be filled before scheduling an appointment.
- Marriage will be scheduled on Sunday between Asr and Magrib prayers.
Note it is also required for the marriage to have:
- Mutual agreement (Ijab-O-Qubul) by the bride and the groom
- Mahr (marriage-gift) to be paid by the groom to the bride either immediately (muajjal) or deferred (muakhkhar), or a combination of both.

Once all the requirements have been met, please contact Masjid Al-Sabereen directly at 717-238-8313 to set up an appointment with the Imam to perform the marriage.
After the couple, the witnesses and the Imam sign the license, the Imam mails it to the official registry and the couple will receive a copy as well.
